I grew up in construction, and after a tour of duty in the USAF, I worked in commercial construction for more than 10 years. Then I moved into home repair, where I built up a client base almost entirely from word of mouth. I kept many of my clients until they moved away or into a place with its own maintenance service. Some clients have had me doing jobs for over 30 years. I smile remembering one client who tracked me down after I had moved 40 minutes away from her - I assumed she would just replace me, but she wanted me back!

I enjoyed a working/friend relationship with a builder and his realtor wife. She loved my abilitity to make a home inspection report repair list evaporate quickly and the convenience of needing to call only me, most times. He built our bocci ball court, epoxied our garage floor, upgraded all our lighting in our home and poured new concrete for our driveway among countless other jobs.
